Pink Hope Gold Coast Bliss Weekend

Pink Hope Gold Coast Bliss Weekend, Burleigh Heads, Queensland. Australia

Burleigh Heads, on the Gold Coast, is one of my favourite quick escapes down the highway from Brisbane. About an hour from home, I love how this coastal stretch has visual remains from a different era. I head to the Gold Coast regularly to take Shari for a, run and also for pleasure visits, escaping to the beach. Each time I visit I can’t believe the quality of the restaurant and bar scene and how much great food is on offer. It really is on the rise.

This weekend I was down the coast because I secured a place to attend a Pink Hope Getaway in Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast. There were so many beautiful applications; mine really stood out as someone who could truly benefit from a weekend of relaxation, connections, support and spoiling. Pink Hope is a preventative health hub that allows every individual the necessary tools to assess, manage and reduce their risk of breast and ovarian cancer, while providing personalised support for at risk women.

I left Brisbane lunchtime Friday and met Madddie at our accommodation at Ambience on the Beach, The Esplanade, Burleigh Heads. Ambience on Burleigh Beach is located opposite the popular Burleigh Heads Beach. It offers apartments with a private balcony and full kitchen and laundry facilities. We had access to a lap pool, a hot tub and a fitness centre. Our very spacious three bedroom apartment with 3 toilets and two bathrooms was stunning and adequate for our group of six. We arrived to a beautifully clean and inviting apartment. It was lovely. The balcony was the perfect place to sit and enjoy the spectacular view. The apartment building was safe and secure. Everything was so accessible and in walking distance, clubs, cafes, restaurants, clothes and convenience shops. The management and staff were all absolutely charming and helpful throughout our 2 night stay. Maddie and I picked our beds, with Elizabeth and Jeanie arriving shortly after. Late afternoon Tahnne and Sarah arrived just as we were having a massage and facial from Katie, from Girls Getaways.  Girls Getaways creates wonderful girls only packages to escape, indulge, relax.

Katie supplied a deliciously-styled grazing platter on arrival featuring a selection of sweet and savoury nibbles. You can feel the stress melt away with a nurturing massage designed to induce full body relaxation and a luxurious facial to make your skin feel delicious.

After our massages we headed to The Burleigh Heads Hotel, which was located on the picturesque beach front in Burleigh Heads, situated on The Esplanade in from of our accommodation. Burleigh Heads Hotel restaurant is a great place for eating out in, and we all selected some pizzas and drinks. Food was beyond our expectations for a pub and amazing service that was quick and easy with a greeting of friendly staff. Cocktails were amazing. We headed back to the room late, to be ready for next day.

Upon the next morning while everyone was still sleeping in Jeanie and I went down to Borough Barista for an early morning coffee pickup.  Located on the Esplanade overlooking the beach, Borough Barista offers a brand of Story Blend Coffee and a wide range of wholesome, appetising meals.

Around 10am Richard from Corporate Chauffeurs Gold Coast picked us up and chauffeured us to Teavine House for High Tea. Teavine House, nestled away in Tallebudgera Valley, is a Gold Coast institution for good reason. You can indulge on some of the finest high tea on the coast served on beautiful china in a stunning garden setting. It was a gorgeous little tea house. It was beautifully decorated with lots of quirky touches and when we arrived for high tea our table looked gorgeous.

The staffs were attentive and there is a wide variety of teas to choose from which are delicious and arrived looking cute. The high tea was of a very high quality and there was certainly enough to eat.  Plated tiers of delicious bite size morsels arrived. On the bottom tier we had lovely petite sandwiches and savouries, “to die for” sweet treats in the middle, with a top tier of the most delicate tiny scones with jam and cream. Teavine House also caters for morning tea, afternoon tea and has a great a la carte and all day rustic ploughman’s lunch menu as well.

Next time I must check out the French Pavilion courtyard, the beautiful gardens, patios and the shop, full of tea, gifts and fabulous clothes.

From The Teavine House we were chauffeured to the Bath House. The Bath House is the laid-back day spa you didn’t know you were missing in your life. Once inside The Bath House you’ll immediately breathe out a sigh in the same instant your tense shoulders relax. The space is modern and minimalistic. They’ve nailed the flow and feng shui, with lots of white, soft arches, natural textures, pops of peach and neon green, cute hand lettering signs adorning the walls by Penfriend, plus several inviting lounging areas for lingering and, in true Greenhouse form, ample plants smattered about.

A knowing smile and a warm hello, right down to offering you a cold face towel, a whole baby coconut to sip, or a soothing cup of zesty ginger tea while you get cosy on the sun deck at the rear. Each session lasts about 90 minutes, which is the optimal amount of time to switch off and unwind. Later this month, they’ll be adding massage and beauty offerings in their two treatment rooms.

After a morning of indulgent, Maddie, Jeanie and I strolled into James Street for a relaxed coastal shopping experience, checking out the arts, crafts, boutique stores.

Night fell and we ordered some Uber Eats and sat around the table eating some great food, we got to share life. We shared stories of the past. Stories that were familiar and some new ones. Sharing our stories gives us more room to breathe; it gives those around us a chance to exhale, too.

The next morning Maddie, Elizabeth and I went across the road to the brand new café CREW, which only arrived just in time for the holiday season, serving up mouth-watering brekkie & lunch food, an impressive list of summer smoothies and their very own Inglewood Coffee. The menu has been dressed to impress with drool-worthy items designed to meet every craving including healthy brekkie bowls, pitaya chia pudding with maqui-berry granola, or for those chasing something a bit naughty, Nutella Waffles, pancakes and a delicious array of burgers. After a naughty Nutella it was time to head back home to reality. Was a great girl’s weekend.

A big thank you to host Michael McKeown of Ambience on Burleigh Heads, who provided us with excellent service during our stay. He, and is staff were very friendly, extremely attentive and possibly one of the best service staff I have ever encountered.

Just want to say THANK YOU to Lisa Caterina for making our weekend so wonderful. We could not have experienced all of this without you – just felt I needed to say thanks for planning and organizing this great event.
